Biomonitoring services
In addition to exposure, biomonitoring can be used to determine the effectiveness of protective measures
Our high-quality analyses will help you to identify:
- employee’s exposure to chemicals
- task-specific risk of exposure
- need for protection and its efficiency
Biomonitoring measures overall exposure and takes into account all routes of exposure: air, skin, and the digestive tract.
With our extensive selection of analyses, you can address chemical risks in the work environment at an early stage. Biomonitoring helps in conducting occupational safety and health measures in a planned manner in the long term.
Professional interpretation provides significant additional value for analyses
We are an esteemed expert institute of well-being at work with high professional ethics. We have decades of experience in pioneer work in studying and developing work environment analyses in Finland.
The Laboratory Services of the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health is a testing laboratory T013 accredited by FINAS accreditation services (accreditation requirement SFS-EN ISO/IEC 17025:2017).
Our unbiased interpretation of the analysis results takes into account the overall situation. Substance-specific coverage is good as we make use of a large selection of comparable Finnish reference values. We utilise evidence-based health-related action limits and reference data.
The reference limits of those with no exposure are based on results achieved with the same methods that we use in the analytics of biomonitoring samples.
If necessary, we will instruct your occupational health services in reducing exposure to and protecting from chemicals and biological dust.
