Multi-method assessment study: attraction and retention coaching (Breakthrough Collaboratives)
Objectives
The aim of the study is to yield more understanding of the factors that promote and prevent the impact of community-level development interventions.
Data and methods
The Ministry of Social Affairs and Health will organise 'employee attraction and retention’ coaching for the wellbeing services counties’ work units in 2024–2025 as a part of the Finnish Government's Good Work Programme. We will study the impact of this coaching process.
The assessment of the coaching consists of three sections.
- We will assess the impact of the coaching by analysing the follow-up data of the ‘Mitä kuuluu?’ (‘How are we?’) survey and the well-being at work survey of the wellbeing services counties.
- We will describe the change taking place during the development process using a qualitative multi-case research method.
- We will use the data of sections 1 and 2 and previous literature to identify factors that promote and prevent impact at a more general level.
Results and impact
Our study produces a synthesis of factors that promote and prevent the impact of the change sought in community-level development interventions.
In addition to measures targeting individuals, community-level development interventions are needed to improve the employee attraction and retention of the social services and healthcare sector, related to
- work
- working processes
- work community
- work environment
- leadership.
With the help of research, we are building more effective development interventions that can reduce employee’s workload and strengthen their resources.
